My name is Angela Bryant and I bought my first property to rent out in 1995, which was one year before the advent of buy-to-let mortgages; ahead of the curve!

The arrival of buy-to-let mortgages enabled me to expand my portfolio from this small beginning, eventually achieving a 100‑property portfolio.

Thousands soon joined the buy-to-let revolution, eventually reaching as many as 2.5 million landlords in 2018 – in spite of government measures to try and curb this fantastic and very popular investment.

In recent years, since the tax changes affecting landlords were announced in 2015, I have sold around one third of my original portfolio, although further development projects have brought the numbers back up to around 80 properties at the present time.

Writing my second book, as well as aiming to help others to consider various strategies, helped me to think about the way forward for my own property business.
